I am a philosopher working on the philosophy of consciousness. My research sits at the intersection of the philosophy of mind and the history of philosophy, and draws on empirical and clinical evidence to test philosophical claims about phenomenality.
Research
My primary work is on the metaphysics of consciousness — questions of phenomenal unity, higher-order representationalism, and illusionism — approached in part through borderline cases of consciousness, including depersonalization and derealization disorders and hemispherotomy.
I also work in the history of philosophy, particularly early phenomenology, Wittgensteinian studies and German philosophy.
